The next stop was to the Orson Hyde Park which is located on the Mount of Olives near the Garden of Gethsemane. One thing that stands out to me is really how close all of these places are. It was generally a short bus ride to where we were going. The Orson Hyde Park was dedicated as a memorial park for Orson Hyde after he gave the dedicatory prayer of Israel for the gathering of the Jewish people. It's a beautiful park that sits on the hill once again over looking the valley between the Mount of Olives and the Temple Mount. One of the things that I really enjoyed about the group that I went with is that we had little devotionals at some of the locations that we stopped at. Each person in the group was responsible for each location. It was amazing to be reading about something in the scriptures and to be sitting there at the same time. Well during out devotional at the Mount of Olives we 'meet' some friends.
The just sat down and joined us for the end of the devotional, a little loud, but eventually the quieted down. I think all they really wanted was to get a picture with a cute American girl. Boys will be boys.
