Baby Hailey

So after making us wait an extra week, our beautiful baby girl decided to grace us with her presence. She was just very comfortable where she was. I actually went into labor Thursday evening, so Dan and I headed to the hospital. We got checked in and settled and than spent the night waiting. We were only there a couple of hours before I got the epidural, which I was so grateful for, because I was actually able to get a little sleep during the night. Friday morning as my labor progressed I was doing well, but our little girl was still in no rush to come into this world. Around 10:00 in the morning I was dilated to a 10, but Hailey still hadn't moved. Around noon the doctor decided to give me some pitocin to try to increase the contractions so that it would push the baby down. Eventually it did work and after 18 hours of labor (like I said thank goodness for the epidural) and about an hour and a half of pushing, she came screaming into this world. She weighed 8 pounds and 3 ounces and was 21 inches long. She even had a little strawberry blond hair, so it will be interesting to see if it stays that color or if she ends up towhead like her parents were. I realize that I am her mother, but she is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen.
