And the summer is here...

So the summer is officially in season... here are the reasons why:

1. We had to turn on the air conditioner at the house this week
2. I have to use the air conditioner in my car on the ride home
3. The temperature here in Phoenix actually hit 100 degrees yesterday

So I guess it's time to embrace the summer!

I love to see the Temple!

So yesterday was our Stake Temple Day. Our Stake was getting together to go to the 4:30 session. Since like me most of the members of my ward work and aren't necessarily in the position to take off work our ward decided that we would meet up and go to the 7:00 session. So since work is halfway between home and the Temple I decided that it wasn't really worth it to drive home, but that I would head down to the Temple straight from work. I got there around 5:30 and had some time to kill, so I figured I would walk around the grounds at the Temple and take some pictures. It was a lovely evening to take pictures at the Temple. They just planted the new spring flowers and the lighting was perfect (nearing subset, so it was a little dramatic, but I love the way it reflected off the face of the Temple). It was an absolutely beautiful evening... not only outside the Temple but inside as well.

More Music!

So I heard this song this morning on the radio and really liked the lyrics. Makes you think about things.

Suns win 119-110

So Monday night I joined my friend Scott at the Sun's basketball game. They were playing the Grizzles. Scott got the tickets from one of his clients and I have to admit that they were very good tickets. I couldn't touch the players, but I could actually see the expressions on their faces. It was really fun to sit that close and the game was even better cause we won. (Although it didn't really matter because the Sun's are out of the running for the playoffs)
Look how close we are!

Scott and Shelly

I absolutely love this guy!

So I was introduced to Mat Kearney by my sister a couple years ago and absolutely love his first CD. This week I found out that he has a new CD coming out May 19th. I am so excited for it to come out. This video is the first single that he has released from his CD. Yeah for good music.

Love this time of year!

So there are a few reasons why I love this time of year. First of all it's spring, which always brings new life. I love watching the world bloom and start to grow again after the winter. (Yeah, yeah I know we really don't have a cold winter here, but things still die.) Another thing that I love about this time of year is that it is Easter time. It's always nice to have time to sit an reflect on the true meaning of Easter. To contemplate the importance of my Savior Jesus Christ, his Atonement, Death and Resurrection. It's hard to express the gratitude that I have for all the blessings I've received in my life because of my Savior. Much like the world in the spring time I find that the Atonement gives me the chance to have that "new life" or change in my own life. I find peace and comfort knowing that there will always be another day when the sun will rise and things will be better. There is ALWAYS a chance to start again. So during this wonderful Easter season I just wanted to take some time to express my gratitude to all those of you who mean so much to me. Thanks for always supporting me. May your Easter be wonderful and may you to reflect on the great blessings you have received thanks to a willing Savior.

Good thing I'm not a gambling woman...

So I decided that it's a really good thing that I'm not a gambling woman. So this year i haven't really followed college basketball at all, but thought that it would be fun to fill out a bracket anyways. I didn't really have any system when I was filling it out other than looking at the rankings and trying to pick a few upsets. Well I decided that I really wasn't any good when last week I didn't even have any of the picks for the elite eight. Oops... well I guess it's a good thing it was only for fun right. Oh well maybe next year I'll pay more attention.
