Family Vacation- Day 2
So on day 2 of the family vacation we headed up to Crater Lake. We've been to Crater Lake before, but it's been years. I faintly remember the last time we were there. Crater Lake is a lake that formed when the volcano Mount Mazama collapsed. It's known for the brilliant blue water. The water is really pretty, cold I'm sure, but we didn't go down to it this time so I don't know for sure. It was cold enough around Crater Lake for their still to be snow on the ground, half of the road around the lake was closed still. It was nice outside except for when the wind started to blow and than it was just really cold. There was even enough snow up on the rim to build a little snow man. Once we'd gotten cold enough at Crater Lake we decided to head back off the mountain. We stopped along the Rogue River on our way back to the camp ground. We took a little walk off the road to see a couple of beautiful waterfalls. I love seeing all the green, it's refreshing when I'm use to seeing the dry desert.
