Bridge Troll and Gasworks Park

The last stops along my crazy two day adventure around Seattle was to see the Bridge Troll and Gasworks Park. Both were cool... and once again I couldn't resist taking pictures. Overall my trip to Seattle was tons of fun. Thanks to Austin for being such a good tour guide. Thanks to Allison and Jen for letting me crash at their house. Thanks for putting up with the the pictures I posted. If you have any desire to see more (yes if you can believe it I didn't post all of them) click here.

Downtown Seattle

So there was cool fountain up one of the streets in Seattle and I just couldn't resist taking pictures. Now that I have a camera I just get so excited to use it everywhere. Thank goodness Austin didn't care that I was stopping all the time to take pictures. I guess he can't complain too much, because he got to have his picture taken with the big statue.

Ivars Fish Bar

So the next stop came as a recommendation from Austin's Grandma (maybe it was a little more than a recommendation). We HAD to go to get fish and chips at Ivars. It's right on the water. The fish and chips were really good. There is nothing like fresh fish. Another thing you HAVE to do at Ivars is feed the seagulls. You take the french fries hold them in the air and wait for the seagulls to basically dive bomb you. I'll admit that I tried, but I always got scared and let go of the french fry before the birds to snag it from me. It was a very exciting experience.

Pikes Place Market

The next stop along the way was Pikes Place Market. It's a farmers market, but it known especially for it's fresh fish. It was a fun little area to walk around. There were tons of people and tons of stuff to see. There was this wall down one of the alleys that's known as the "gum wall" as you can see from the picture it's completely covered in chewed gum. It's kind of gross, but there were still tons of people taking pictures of it... including me. (and no we didn't add to the wall)

Seattle Temple

The next stop along the way was the Seattle Temple. It's an absolutely beautiful temple, but all of them are. I enjoyed taking some pictures through the trees and with some ice that we found.

Snoqualmie Falls

The next stop was Snoqualmie Falls. The fog and colds were just starting to part, so the pictures are the best, but it was still beautiful. Once again I won't complain about the sun coming out. We even stopped along the way just so that I could bask in the sunlight. The sunlight was beautiful.

Flaming Geyser State Park

Saturday morning we started out by eating breakfast at a cute little bakery in a town called Black Diamond, Wa. It was a cute little family owned bakery. It was absolutely delicious. From there we headed on to Flaming Geyser State Park. It was a beautiful green park. Honestly I can't say that the Flaming Geyser was all that exciting. It was just a gas geyser that keeps a flame going. The flame wasn't really that large, but at least the park was beautiful.

Sunset at Golden Gardens Park

We ended the day on Friday by heading out to Golden Garden Park north of Seattle to watch the sun set. It was a beautiful end to a wonderful day spent in the city.

Art around Seattle

There are lots of cool things to take pictures of around Seattle. Fountains, buildings, and art.

Space Needle

The next stop along the way was the Space Needle. It's a symbol of Seattle so there is no way that we could miss it. The view from the top of the Space Needle was really cool. Thank goodness for a clear day in Seattle. Which I hear is somewhat rare, so that's good.

View of Seattle

This is a view of Seattle from the ferry. The ferry was an absolutely beautiful ride. The run actually came out so I was really happy. The ferry was an absolutely beautiful way to approach Seattle. I think it's a great way to see the city.

Harborside Fountain Park

Our next stop was Bremerton. While we were waiting to take the ferry from Bermerton into Seattle we found a cool little park to walk around. The Park was located right next to the Naval Shipyard, so the theme from the park was taken from the smoke stacks on boats. It was kind of a cool park. Plus there were lots of cool stone statues to take pictures of.

Sound Coast & Tacoma Narrows

So the next stop along our adventure was down the sound coast to the Tacoma Narrows. The one thing that I know about the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. For some reason it was mentioned almost every year during my four years in the Civil Engineering Program at BYU. It was kind of cool to finally see it. (It's the really faint bridge in the picture.) The sound coast is also very beautiful. Lush and green... so different from anything I see in Phoenix.
